Physical Literacy Lecture and Movement Series:

Activities of Daily Living

In these workshops participants will gain a better understanding of what physical literacy is and in a variety of environments. You will learn how to improve and practise movement patterns, giving you motivation and confidence across the lifespan.

 

Activities of Daily Living or ADL's are basic activities necessary for independent living. They are performed on a daily basis. We will focus on mobility and provide exercises that will help to maintain your independence such as personal hygiene, dressing, shopping, house or yard work and locomotor skills.

Physical Literacy Lecture and Movement Series:

Playing With Your Grandkids

In these workshops participants will gain a better understanding of what physical literacy is and in a variety of environments. You will learn how to improve and practise movement patterns, giving you motivation and confidence across the lifespan.

 

Want to play with your grandchild but do not know where to start? In this session we will focus on using fundamental movement skills with everyday items around your house and yard. You will learn how to encourage and motivate your grandchild (and yourself!) to move, play and learn. Bring your grandkids and let's have some fun.

Physical Literacy 501

PL 501 will help participants to understand the importance of physical literacy development for participants with disabilities. This workshop will take participants through what universally accessible programs are and how to plan and create them. It will also help participants to develop their adaptations to fundamental movement skills to allow for different disability types to participate and have a quality first involvement experience.
